Brief information on Dongyue Temple  



Boasting a history of more than 600 years, Dongyue Temple is the largest Taoist temple in Northern China. It features a seven-row-house courtyard in the style of the Ming, Yuan and Qing dynasties. Outside of the temple, there is a featured glazed archway, with the motto of an ancient prime minister carved on. In addition, Dongyue Temple boasts many tablets, josses and couplets. The temple fair focuses on its association with pilgrims, as well as celebrating the birthday of the god Dongyue in grand style.
