Brief information on Jingshan Park

Situated in the central area of Beijing City, Jingshan (literally, Prospect Hill) Park stands immediately to the north of the Forbidden City. Originally, it was an imperial park in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
??
The sights in the park primarily include Mt. Jingshan, Park Gate, Qiwang Tower, Peak Pavilions, Shouhuang Hall, Yongsi Hall and Guande Hall. Shouhuang Hall was initially built so that emperors could enjoy climbing, archery and appreciate the varied flora and fauna during the Double Ninth Festival.
?
Jingshan Park is mentioned as the place that the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Chongzhen, committed suicide by hanging himself in 1644. Today, the park is regarded as one of the best vantage points from which to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Forbidden City.
