Located on the south of west Chang’an St., Beijing Concert Hall is attached to CNSO (China National Symphony Orchestra). The precursor of Beijing Concert Hall is Central Cinema, established in 1927. After the reconstruction in 1983, Beijing Concert Hall become the first modern and professional concert hall for recital music in China.
As one of the international standard professional concert hall, it became an ideal stage for music virtuosos. Menuhin, Stern, Seiji Ozawa and Yo-Yo Ma, etc. have performed here. A steady series of orchestral and chamber music concerts can be appreciated here and China Opera Symphony Orchestra, China Traditional Music Ensemble, Oriental Song and Dance Troupe are a few of the many groups frequently perform here. The music is a combination of oriental and western, classic and modern, and the quality is generally very high.
