Front Gate Street

Front Gate Street is a renowned traditional commercial street in Beijing. Lying on the axle wire of the capital and radiating from Zhengyang Gate Archery Tower in north to Tiantan Rd. in south, Front Gate street was the imperial road for emperors to Temple of Heaven before the construction of the outer city in 1550 in Ming Dynasty. Afterwards, the street became a primary south-north avenue.
Front Gate Street was reconstructed for more than one year and opened in Aug. 2008. The unique busy area features in many time-honored shops including Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant, Dabei Photo Studio, Qinglinchun Tea Shop, Yizhao Department Store, Changchuntang Drug Store and China Book Shop, etc. giving an elegant reflection of Beijing.
Besides, for the convenience of visitors, the relevant administration office set comprehensive facilities to guarantee the sightseeing and recreational activities.
