Beijing Train

Beijing is a railway transportation hub of the country. Passengers can get to most provincial capitals and all neighboring cities here by train. There are six railway stations in Beijing, among which Beijing Railway Station and Beijing West Railway Station are the major ones. Beijing Railway Station offers mainly long-haul journeys such as Beijing to Baotou, Shanghai or international trains including the lines directly to Moscow, Pyongyang and Ulan Bator. Beijing West Railway Station offers services to the capital cities of almost every province, most major and medium sized cities, autonomous regions (excluding Hainan and Taiwan) of China. Besides, there offers ten shifts intercity express between Beijing and Tianjin and the journey only takes about half an hour.

After you arrived at the railway station,  it is better to ask for the hotel shuttle bus to come and get you. Or just go out of the front door to the long taxi line. These taxis will be more reliable and charge according to the meter.

Ticket booking

It is convenient to have your hotel travel service or front desk buy you a train ticket with small extra charge as it can sometimes be confusing and time-consuming to book by yourself. Beijing Railway Station and Beijing West Railway Station provide a special counter for selling tickets to foreigners. You can purchase the tickets up to six days in advance and it is necessary for you to show the passport ID when booking or buying tickets.
