It was fortified or re-constructed by several successive dynasties as the national defense project, but still China was once invaded and conquered by enemies from the north in history with the protection of the Great Wall. Badaling, located 70 Kilometers northwest of Beijing, is a popular entry point for tourists going to see the great wall. When setting your foot right on one of the ‘Fenghuotai’, the beacon tower, you are feeling on the top of the world and refreshed by the astonishing view from there. Mountains down your feet, you can imagine the fierce battles fought by sides, one trying to take over and the other in defense. Walking up for 1 mile can be a strenuous task, but rewarding experience.
