Brief information on People’s Square  

Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, the square features a plane-shaped monument, which commemorates the Russian soldiers, especially the 23 Russian pilots, who devoted themselves to the liberation of Changchun. It is a symbol of the friendship between the Chinese and Russian peoples.

The round square is surrounded by various grasses, flowers, and trees. Facing the square stands the People’s Bank of China, the nation’s central bank. It is also the central bank of Manchukuo. Local residents stroll and take exercise in the square everyday.
