This historical palace was the home of Pu Yi, the last emperor of China, who was installed by the Japanese Manchukuo government in 1932 as a puppet ruler. It is now a national AAAAA Scenic Area.
Covering a core area of 46,000 square meters, the palace is divided into two parts, ‘Nei Ting’ and ’Wai Ting’, referring to the private living quarters of Pu Yi and his relatives, and to the workplace respectively. The palace buildings adopt both ancient and modern styles, embracing the East and West. Manchu State Imperial Palace, or Puppet Imperial Palace as it is called in China, is an important base for education in patriotism.
Nowadays, the Puppet Imperial Palace has become a combination of Manchukuo palace, a centre for patriotic tourism, cultural entertainment, and business services in Changchun.
