Putuozongcheng Temple is in the north of Chengde Summer Resort Scenic Spot and occupies an area of 21.6 hectares. “Putuozongcheng” means “Potala Palace” in Tibetan, but much smaller than the Potala Palace in Lhasa, so it is also called “Small Potala Palace”. The general distribution is similar with the Potala Palace in Lhasa, and it can not compare with the Tibetan Potala Palace, but its dimensions are also very large in the inland temples. The Putuozongcheng Temple is the mixture of Han people’s architectural style and the Tibetan style.
Putuozongcheng Temple is divided into three parts: the front part includes the gate of temple, stele pavilion, five-tower gate; the middle part includes glazed memorial archway, monks’ houses and the rear part consists of the main architecture Red Palace and other buildings around.
