Shanwei Overview: Located at the coastal area of south Guangdong Province, Shanwei is next to Jieyang in the east, Huizhou in the west and borders Heyuan in the north and China South Sea in the south. Covering an area of 5,271 square kilometers, Shanwei has a population of 3.1536 million.

Shanwei Climate & Weather: By the influence of Southern tropical monsoon climate, Shanwei has an apparent oceanic climate, which has a warm temperature, sufficient rainfall and plentiful sunshine. It is not too cold in winter and not hot in summer with the yearly average temperature of 21℃ to 22℃ and rainfall volume of 1800mm to 2400mm.

By Air: There is no airport in Shanwei but passengers may take the flight to Shenzhen or Shantou Airport and then take a bus to Shanwei.
By Train: Although there is not a train station in Shanwei, the Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway is under construction currently and it will run through the whole city of Shanwei. Currently, the only way to take train is to transfer at Shenzhen or Shantou.
By Bus: Shen (Shenzhen)-Shan (Shantou) Highway and No.324 National Highway run through the whole city and link Shenzhen, Shanwei, and Shantou together. Shanwei Bus Station located at the south of the city, which is the transportation hub of Shanwei, and currently, the buses from Shanwei to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Shantou as well as cities and towns in Guangdong Province are available.
City Transportation: There are many city bus stations spreading in the city and the flag-down fare for taxi in Shanwei is CNY3.
Water Transportation: Shanwei Port is one of the coastal opened ports in China and it is only 81 nautical miles away from Hong Kong and 12 nautical miles away from the Pacific Ocean International Ship Routes, which allows the transportation to most cities in the world.
Shanwei Food: The traditional cuisine in Shanwei is the Chaoshan dishes, which is a branch of Yue cuisine. By taking the method of braising, stewing, roasting and frying, the dishes are fresh and taste naturally. Local delicacies include Roasted Gooses, Taiji Taro Cream, Huguo Dish and Chicken Broth with Crab Ball.
