Yangjiang Overview:  Located at the southwest coast of Guangdong Province, Yangjiang is facing China South Sea in the south, borders Yunfu in the north, Jiangmen in the east and Maiming in the west. Covering an area of 7,813 square kilometers, Yangjiang has a population of 2.642 million. There are more than 1200 companies in Yangjiang are operating daily used hard ware scissors, covering 50% of the total amount of all scissors enterprises in China, and therefore, Yangjiang is also called “Scissors City in China” and “China’s Hardware Product (Yangjiang Scissors Tool) Export Base in China” .

Yangjiang Climate & Weather:  By the influence of subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, Yangjiang has a yearly average temperature of 22℃ with warm winter and cool summer. The main feature of the climate in Yangjiang is moist for it located at the south side of tropical of cancer and the yearly average rainfall in Yangjiang is about 2300mm.

Language in Yangjiang:  Yangjiang has its own dialect which belongs to Guangdong dialect. It’s not easy to understand for Mandarin speakers.

Yangjiang Transportation:

By Air:  Heshan Airport located at Heshan Prefecture, which is only 17 kilometers away from Hedong Town in Yangjiang. Through NO.325 National Highway and Kai-Yang Highway, Passengers can get to the airport and currently, the airport has only opened the flight routes from Yangjiang to Guangzhou and Zhuhai.

By Train:  San (Sanshui)-Mao (Maoming) Railway runs through the whole city and goes through Yangchun, which is at the northern part of Yangjiang. Yang (Yangchun Train Station)-Yang (Yangjiang Port) Railway has already opened for use and from Yangchun Train Station, the train routes from Yangchun to Guangzhou, Chongqing, Nanning, Shenzhen, Baise, Neijiang and Shantou are available.

By Bus:  Gang (Guangzhou)-Zhan (Zhanjiang) Highway, coasting highway at the west of Guangdong Province, No.325 National Highway run through the whole city, among which, Gang-Zhan Highway is the traffic aortic in the west of Guangdong Province and links Guangzhou, Foshan, Jiangmen, Yangjiang, Maoming and Zhanjiang.

Water Transportation:  Yangjiang Port is the first class ports in China and from Yangjiang Port, there are ship lines from Yangjiang to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Macao, Zhanjiang and other cities in the world every Tuesday and Friday.

Yangjiang Food:  The common dishes in Yangjiang are the abundant sea food and the significant feature of Yangjiang cuisine is fresh. After steaming or boiling, the origin taste in the food will be kept to be tested. By the influence of Yue cuisine, another feature of Yangjiang cuisine is soup making.
