Brief information on South China Botanical Garden

South China Botanical Garden was built in 1929 and occupies an area of 333 hectares. It is one of the Three Biggest Botanical Gardens in China, and is also the largest such garden in the southern sub-tropics. South China Botanical Garden is home to some 5,000 species of plants and is also known as the Subtropical Plants Museum. It is also one of the Top Ten Attractions in Guangzhou.
South China Botanical Garden boast a number of what are known as “Appreciation Areas”, such as Palms Area, Bamboo Plants Area, Economic Plants Area, Gymnosperm Area, Medicinal Plants Area, Tropical Plants Area, Aquatic Plants Area, Shady Forest Nature Reserve and Subtropical Evergreen Monsoon Forest Area, etc.
