Guiyang Shopping – What to Buy in Guiyang

Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, is famous for its handicrafts, local products - especially the Dried Beef, wooden crafts, Miao silver ornaments, traditional Chinese medicines and ox horn products. Small gifts like this are rather popular among tourists. An ethnic minority doll and a totem mask as small as a walnut shell would be perfect gifts to take home. Embroideries and Cross-Stitch products rank highly among Guiyang crafts and stores on Beijing Road offer many different designs, with prices varying according to the quality.

The main shopping streets in Guiyang are Zhonghua Road and Yan'an Road. Department stores are mainly situated on Zhonghua Road, the busiest commercial street in Guiyang. Yan'an Road is where you will find the night market, which is open until midnight.

Qiancui Hang on Beijing Road is the best place to buy local handicrafts. Goods for sale here are always of good quality and, of course, are rather expensive. Embroideries and silver ornaments produced in the countryside are treasured in Qian Yi Bao.
