Mudanjiang Overview:  Mudanjiang is a prefecture-level city in Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the southeast of Heilingjiang, with Harbin in the west, Russia in the east. The city is surrounded by mountains, with plain at the centre. With a population of 2,710,000, Mudanjiang is rich in forest resources.

By Train:  There are 3 railway lines connected by Mudanjiang such as Harbin/Suifenhe, Mudanjiang/Tumen, Mudanjiang/Jiamusi. It will take about 4 hours to Harbin by the express train.

By Bus:  Mudanjiang has seven bus stations and 16 sub-stations, and shuttle services from each county (city) to main scenic spots from the Central Station and North Railway Station Plaza for few  Yuan.  The buses within cities are self-service and the ticket fare is 1 Yuan.

By Taxi: The flag-down fare is 5 Yuan. 1.2 Yuan per kilometer is charged after the first 3 kilometers. Most taxi rides within the city cost around 10 Yuan.

Mudanjiang Food:  There is a very famous local delicacy called Jingbo Lake style fish banquet where there are more than 70 kinds of fishes, such as Crucian Carp, Mandarin fish etc are served. Other notable specialty like Blood Sausage with white meat, Jingbo shredded Carp are all very delicious dishes you get in Mudanjiang.
