Brief information on Five-Pagoda Temple
![]() |
Five-Pagoda Temple is also called Jingangzuo Sheli Baota, and consists of five small pagodas built together on top of the temple’s base. Five-Pagoda Temple was originally a part of a larger temple complex constructed during 1727-1732. Though the complex has since disappeared, the five-pagoda structure has remained.
The temple is 16 meters high and comprises three main parts: the base, the seat and the top. The lower part of the seat is inlaid with inscriptions of Diamond Sutra written in Mongolian, Sanskrit and Tibetan. The upper part has niches holding gold-plated statues of Buddha. The body of the pagoda is glazed in green and yellow. There is also an ancient Mongolian astronomical map to be seen here.
