Brief information on Huangshan Scenic Spot  

Mt. Huangshan, in the east of China south of Anhui province, are about 40 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide covering a total area of 1,200 square kilometers. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous mountains in China. Originally known as Mt. Yishan, in 747AD it was renamed Mt. Huangshan in recognition of the legendary Huang Di, the reputed ancestor of all Han people. In Chinese mythology, he is said to have made magic pills for immortality in here.

Lotus peak is the highest peak in the range at 1,864.8 meters above sea level. Of the scenic spots in Mt. Huangshan six are renowned, namely the hot spring, clouds valley, pine tree valley, north sea, Yuping, and fishing bridge. Mt. Huangshan is famed for its sea of the clouds, its wondrous pines and unique rock-scapes. The sunrise from the top of the mountain is a must-see, and visitors arrive to climb the peak and witness this year-round. 

Mt. Huangshan boasts not only beautiful landscapes but also of an abundance of unique flora and huge variety of native species of animal. Because of this, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage. It is must-see attraction on any China trip.
