Brief information on Great Walls Museum  

Located in the west of the Jiayuguan City, Great Walls Museum is the first professional museum specialized in Great Walls with all-around information, which was finished in the end of 1988, and opened in October 1989. The style of the building is much like, but not exactly, the Great Wall and passes there, which represents its theme and originality.

Covering an area of 12, 312 square meters(about 3 acres) with an exhibition area of 1,776 square meters(about 0.5 acres), the Great Walls Museum has seven exhibition halls.
Centered on the theme of Grand Great Wall, the museum collects all the research results in Chinese History Study and Archeology chronologically for three thousand years with four section, which display the construction history of Great Walls with texts, graphs and models.

In addition, there are Chinese Ancient Weaponry and Equipment Exhibition, Jiyuguan Antiques Exhibition, and Famous Artist Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition with a collection of more than 7000 pieces, which gives the museum a name- A Textbook of Great Walls.
