Brief information on Mt. Muztagata

Mount Muztagata is located at the juncture of Akto County and Taxkorgan Autonomous County. Those adventurous enough to make it to the top of the mountain will find themselves standing at 7,546 meters above seal level. Mount Muztagata is a magnet for mountaineers, and anyone travelling from Kashgar to Kunqirap Port must pass it. In Tajik language, “Muztagata” means “Father of Ice Mountain.
*You can download the bilingual note to show it to a taxi driver or someone else to find your way to Mt. Muztagata if you plan to visit Mt. Muztagata and have language problems.

Transportation: take Kashgar- Kunqirap Port bus and get down at Lake Karakuri, and then walk to Mount Muztagata base camp.
