Brief information on Dianchi Lake Scenic Area

Located to the southwest of Kunming City, Lake Dian is a crescent-shaped lake that is also called Diannanze and Kunming Lake. It sits 1,886 meters above sea level and stretches thirty-nine kilometers south to north and thirteen kilometers east to west. With a perimeter of 163.2 kilometers, an area of 306.3 square kilometers, and a volume of 1.57 billion cubic meters, it is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. A pearl on the Yungui Plateau, Lake Dian borders Golden Horse Mountain to the east, Jade Rooster Mountain to the west, Snake Mountain to the north and Crane Mountain to the south.
Interested tourists can find many scenic spots around Lake Dian, such as Yunnan Ethnic Village, the Yunnan Nationalities Museum, Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Sanqing Pavilion, Longmen, Bamboo Temple, Grand View Tower, Panlong Temple, Zheng He Park, and so on.
