Situated in the center of Gansu province, Lanzhou is the transportation hub, so it is accessible by extensive road and rail links that radiate in all directions. There are five national highways including Highways 109, 212, 213, 310 and 312. Lanzhou is also traversed by the Tianshui-Beidao and Xining-Lanzhou expressways.
The Lanzhou-Urumqi, Baotou-Lanzhou, Longhai (Lianyungang-Lanzhou), and Lanzhou-Xining trunk railway lines intersect in Lanzhou. With the completion of the "Eurasian Bridge", there are now direct links between Lanzhou and the countries to China's west. Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport also serves about 30 airlines to major cities in China and abroad.
