Traversed as Lanzhou is by 110 bus routes, the public bus is the most convenient mode of transportation in the city. Buses usually run from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, and fares range from RMB 1-3 depending on the distance traveled. Visitors are advised to avoid the bus during rush hours.

Lanzhou Coach
Lanzhou is the transportation hub for Gansu Province, with Lanzhou East Coach Station and Lanzhou West Coach Station being the two largest stations. Between them they operate more than 750 coaches traveling to different destinations on a daily basis. The most popular destinations include Xinjiang, Baotou, Xining, Zhengzhou, Chengdu and Wenzhou. From Lanzhou tourists can also take a coach to the pristine Sangke Prairie.
