Leshan Overview: Located at the southwest of Sichuan Basin, Leshan borders Zigong and Neijiang in the east, Yibin and Liangshan Yi Autonomous Region in the south and it neighbors Ya’an in the west and Chengdu in the north. Covering an area of 12,826 square kilometers, Leshan has a population of 3.45 million.

Leshan Climate & Weather: By the influence of middle subtropical climate, the four seasons are apparently different in Leshan with sufficient rainfall. The yearly average temperature is 16.5℃ to 18.0℃ the yearly average rainfall is 1400mm. and therefore, the best time to go to Leshan is in spring and fall.

By Air: Leshan is only 150 kilometers away from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and the high class road is available.
By Train: Cheng (Chengdu)-Kun (Kunming) Railway runs through five prefectures under Leshan administration, including Jiajiang, Emei Mountain, Shawan, Ebian, and Jinkou River. And the Emei Mountain Station is only 10 kilometers away from the gate of Emei Scenery Area and 31 kilometers away from Leshan.
By Bus: The transportation in Leshan is mainly depending on road. It is only 162 kilometers between Chengdu and Leshan, 31 kilometers between Leshan and Emeishan and the highway bus runs every 10 minutes. Besides, there are express bus lines from Leshan to Chongqing, Neijiang, Zigong, Yibin and Ya’an through highways.
Leshan Food: Leshan cuisine is as similar as the cuisine in other cities of Sichuan Province and famous for its hot and spicy. Local delicacies include Xiba Tofu, Minjiang River Kana, and Braised Dongpo Hock Pork with Brown Sauce, which has a reputation of “on the List of the Menu of the World”.
Major Leshan Tourism Resources: Leshan has splendid scenery attractions, and it was honored the cultural and historic city by State Council of China in 1994.
Tourist Attractions: Leshan has a lot of tourism resources, among which the major attractions are Emei Mountain-Leshan Giant Buddha Statue, which is on the list of “the World Cultural and Natural Heritage” by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 1996, Mahaoyan Grave, Emei Feilai Palace, Ebian Heizhugou Scenery Area, which is called “China’s Bermuda”, Wutong Bridge, ship-shaped ancient town Luocheng, Jiajiang’s Qianfo Rock, Ebian’s Cuckoo Pond, and Dafengding Panda Natural Protection area in Mabian, Puxian Bronze Statue in Wannian Temple.
