Lhasa Transportation - How to get to and get around Lhasa
Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is also the transportation hub of Tibet. Although more and more ways to access Tibet have become available in recent years, Lhasa is still the main entry and exit point, and is often the only realistic choice for visitors. The transportation system of Lhasa has made great strides in recent times, including new air, railway, highway and bus services. At present, more and more people choose the fly in and out of Lhasa, for the sake of convenience. As The Lhasa Gongar Airport is located about 90 kilometers away from the downtown area, it takes around 2 hours to reach the city center from the airport. The ticket fare is CNY 20 per person. It is also convenient for travelers to get to Lhasa by train or coach.
