Brief information on Lishuijinsha  

Lishuijinsha is a music and dance performance which vividly shows the customs of Lijiang’s minorities of dancing, music, and costume. The performance consists of four parts: “preface”, “water”, “mountain”, and “emotion”. The preface brings an age-old historical scene– the hieroglyphics and religious rites of Dongba. In the “water” section, you can walk into the peaceful Xianadu with Dai girls. The “mountain” section shows customs and traditional festivals of Lijiang’s minorites, such as the Naxi Bangbang festival, Lili’s Ganzhudiao, and the Yi’s Torch festival.  In the last section “emotion”, you can experience the typical Lijiang marriage and courting culture – the unique Axia marriage system called the ‘visiting marriage of Mosuo’ and a moving Naxi love story (a boy and girl who die for their love).
