The Presidential Palace occupies an area of 90,000 square meters, and can be divided into three main sight-seeing areas: The middle area is principally the seat of the National Government, the Presidential Palace and the subsidiary organs; the west area is the location of the office of Sun Yat-sen as the temporary president, secretariat, west garden, and general staff; the east area mainly contains the former site of the Executive Yuan, stables and east garden. A series of exhibition halls and historical data displays can also be found in these main three areas.
Xuyuan Garden, where the Presidential Palace can be found, has a history of more than 600 years, and in this palace, numerous modern Chinese and Western architectural examples, precious cultural relics and historical data-as well as a unique atmosphere of history and culture are well preserved.
