Nanning Shopping – What to Buy in Nanning

Nanning's several shopping centers and night markets should keep the avid shopper occupied for at least a day or so, though the merchandise isn't anything you can't get somewhere else.

On average, goods are cheaper here than in metropolitan Guangzhou, but the selection, of course, is more limited. Malls with domestic and international products are concentrated on Chaoyang Road, Xingning Street, Minzu Dadao, Xinmin Road and Qixing Road.

Night markets kick off around 6:00pm in the Xi Guan Road area. Food, cheap clothes and gold jewelry, textiles and knickknacks are available at heavily discounted rates, but you'll have to put on your bargaining face. Don't miss Xingning Street for all your gold jewelry needs. Watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants and more are available from a multitude of vendors.

Small embroidered balls, tossed by young women to potential lovers, appear everywhere. But perhaps the most exciting thing about shopping in Nanning is the availability of Vietnamese products without actually having to go to nearby Vietnam.
