Pingyao Bus
There is only one bus route inside the ancient city of Pingyao. The running time differ among different seasons. During the spring and summer, the buses run from 07:00 in the morning to the 08:00 in the evening. And during the autumn and winter time, the buses start at 07:00 in the morning and end at 06:30 at night. This bus line surrounds the whole ancient city and connects with all the major attractions within old city wall. It is very convenient for the tourists to go sight-seeing the old city. The ticket price is CNY 1 per person.
Routing: Nancheng Gate – Zhongdu Road – Shuicheng Road – Shuguan Road- Chengnan Bao- Liugen Road – Shuguang Road- Shuncheng Road – Zhongdu Road- Nanzheng Gate
Pingyao Coach
It will take about 2 hours from Pingyao to Taiyuan, and Taiyuan Coach Station has many long distance buses to the major cities of China.
Pingyao–Taiyuan: The while distance is 110 kilometers
Pingyao-Beijing: The ticket fare is CNY 180 and while journey is about 650 kilometers.
Pingyao-Xian: The distance between Pingyao and Xian is over 550 kilometers and it will charge about CNY 180 per person.
