Brief information on Qingdao Protestant Church  

Qingdao Protestant Church is a famous religious monument in Qingdao and a cultural relic protected by the Shandong Provincial government. Located on a hill on Jiangsu Road, the church borders the beautiful Xinhaoshan Park (Signal Hill Park) to the east.

Qingdao Protestant Church was originally built for the Germans in Qingdao to worship. Representative of German-style castle architecture, the church occupies 1,000 square meters and is topped with a 39-meter bell tower. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of Qingdao from the top of the bell tower, which also features a large stately looking clock. The church’s main hall can hold 1,000 people. In front of the main entrance, a large shaded square affords views of the area’s various Western-style buildings arranged with picturesque disorder.

On May 1, 1999, Qingdao Protestant Church officially opened to domestic and international tourists.
