Brief information on Monkey Island  

Monkey Island is located in the south of Lingshui Li Nationality Autonomous County. Because of its mild climate and graceful landscape, it creates an ideal environment for the local macaques to reproduce. Since 1965, the peninsula has been designated as a Macaque Protection Zone, hence its name “Monkey Island”, and is the only Macaque Protection Zone in China.

On this island, visitors can enjoy funny monkey performances, and can get very close to the monkeys, and even have photos taken with them.
