Weihai Overview: Weihai City is a famed harbor and popular tourist destination in China. It is a prefecture-level city in eastern Shandong Province, facing Bohai Sea on three sides, bordering Yantai City in the west and overlooking the Korean Peninsula and Japanese Archipelagos across the sea. It has jurisdiction over 4 county-level divisions including 1 district and 3 county-level cities. The shoreline of the coastal city is about 985.9 kilometers. Covering an area of 5.439 square kilometers, Weihai has a population of 2.48 millions.

Weihai Transportation: Weihai City has a comprehensive transportation system.
By Air: Weihai airport is located in Dashuibo Town, about 30 kilometers from Weihai City area. There are flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Harbin, Changchun, Chengdu, Xian and Jinan, etc. In addition, Weihai is an ideal place to fly to South Korea, which takes about 45 minutes from Weihai airport. Airport shuttle bus runs from the city center and Weihaiwei Plaza, which costs CNY 10 and takes about 45 minutes.
By Train: Weihai Railway Station is small, situated in Shenzhen Road in Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone. Passengers can get to the city from Beijing, Jinan and Hankou. In addition, the railway station offers holiday tourist express train from Weihai to Zibo. Public bus No. 1 and 12 will take you to the railway station, if you would like to get there by bus, it takes about CNY 15 to 20.
By Bus: Weihai Long-distance Bus Station is located at No. 74 Dongcheng Road in Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone, next to Weihai Railway Station in the west. Public buses No. 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, 16, 22 and 23 take passengers to the bus station. There are long-distance buses running to Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Dalian, Changchun and Shenyang, etc.
By Taxi:The flag-down fare is CNY 6 for the initial 2 kilometers, and then CNY 1.5 per kilometer. If the distance beyond 8 kilometer, it will be CNY 2 per kilometer. The flag-down rate will be CNY 7, then CNY 2 per kilometer from 22:00 to 5:00 the next day.
Water Transportation: There are a few harbors in Weihai, such as Weihai Harbor, Longyan Harbor and Shidao Harbor, offering domestic and international shipping lines. Weihai Harbor is located at No. 53, North Haibin Road. Public buses No. 7 and 15 reach the harbor. There are four ships sailing to Dalian daily respectively which depart at 8:30, 9:00, 20:00 and 21:00. The journey takes about 7 to 8 hours and cost ranges from CNY 90 to 180. From Tuesday to Sunday, there are ship services from Weihai to Incheon, South Korean every 18:00. International shipping lines operate every Tuesday and Thursday at 17:30 from Longyan Harbor to Pyongtaek, South Korean. And Shidao Harbor offers international services from Weihai to Incheon, South Korea, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 17:00.
