Located on the coast of the East China Sea and along the east bank of Huangpu River and covering an area of 570,000m², Pudong New District arose from China’s policy of ’Opening Up’ and economic development. Pudong opened in April, 1990, and has underdone incredible changes since its inception. Pudong New District is now considered the very epitome of an export-oriented, modern new urban district, and is synonymous with both China’s economic reforms and prosperity and Shanghai’s modernization and prestige as center of world commerce.
Situated at the middle position of China’s coastal area, adjacent to Shanghai’s urban districts with a solid and strong foundation, Pudong New District is supported by the Yangtze River Delta and enjoys rich resources and transport links to the outside world, as it faces the Pacific and East Asian Region.
