Situated at the east bank of Huangpu River in Pudong district, Riverside Promenade is 2.5 kilometers long, stretching from Dongchang Road and the river ferry terminal in the south to Taidong Road in the north? Riverside Promenade is a scenic byway catering mainly to tourism and entertainment, but also fulfilling a function in the fight against flooding. The area consists of manicured lawns, flower beds, and a broad walkway dotted with kiosks.
Regarded as the answer to the Bund, Riverside is the best place to survey the Bund from a distance-especially after dark, when the Bund is lit-up-affording spectacular views. It is also a good place to look around the main sites in Pudong, such as the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Ocean Aquarium, the Jinmao Tower and the Super Brand Mall. As well as this, visitors can enjoy fine dining in the many restaurants and coffee houses along the promenade, allowing for a complete tourist experience.
