Brief information on Tianzifang  

Tianzifang, located in Lane 210, Taikang Road, Shanghai, was transformed and furnished from local residential houses, Shikumen (stone houses). Taking an area of 20,000 square meters, Tianzifang is the Industry Creative Center in Shanghai and attracts many artists to set up their workplace here. Tianzifan is praised as the No.2 Xintiandi for its popular fashion. Xintiandi display the modern, fashionable and exquisite Shangshi, while Tianzifang gives an impression of kindness, warmness and noisiness of Shanghai.  

Numerous galleries and studios can be found here. This area has become the paradise for many artists to seek a reprieve from the threat of demolition of artist’s villages by property developers in recent years. The most studios are located at Buildings 3& 5 and feature many contemporary works of design, painting and photography.

It is also packed with cafes, bars, restaurants and fashion shops, many of which are small but cosy with friendly and English-speaking staff.

You can also buy some imported clothes and lovely items such as craft, jewelry and glassware, mostly from England, Italy and Iceland.
