Nanjing Road, known as "China’s No. 1 Business Street" in China, is also one of the world’s busiest shopping streets. Located in the city center of Shanghai, this 3.4-mile-long pedestrian street stretches from the Bund in east to the junction of Jing’an Temple and West Yan’an Road in west.
The history of Nanjing Road can be dated back to the year 1851. At that time it was called “Park Lane”, which comes from the Bund to He’nan Road. At time went by, with the hundreds of big store and brand mushrooming on the two sides of the street, the scene of debauchery Nanjing Road has become the most prosperous commercial street in Shanghai and even the whole country.
