Shanghai By Ferry
Shanghai, situated at the middle point of south-north coast line of China, is the third largest port in the world and biggest seaport in China. The ships departing from Shanghai get to more than 400 ports all over the world. Due to the slow speed, nowadays except Gongping Road Wharf still has ships to Dalian every four days, the other long distance sea routes has already suspended shipping services. However, there are many international cruise ships (board on Wai Hongqiao Wharf) set off for Inchon, Pusan (South Korea) and Osaka, Kobe (Japan).
The city Shanghai is divided into two parts-Pudong New Area and Puxi Area by Huangpu River, which running through the city. Therefore, ferry has become one of important transportation means for people traveling.
There are 19 ferry lines and 40 ferry stations along two banks of Huangpu River connecting Pudong and Puxi Area. The fare for ferryboat is about CNY 1 to CNY 3 according to your distance.
