Shanghai Taxi

There are about 50,000 taxies in Shanghai, which are operated by over 150 taxi companies. Among which, the five major taxi companies have their own colors, for example, Dazhong Taxi Company with their cars in sky blue color, Qingsheng in yellow, Jinjiang in white, Bashi in green and Nonggongshang in Blue.

It is more expensive to take a taxi in Shanghai than other Chinese cities. The starting price is CNY 11 for the first 3 kilometers in Shanghai. An additional charge of CNY 2.1 for every succeeding kilometer within 10 kilometers and CNY 3.2/km will be charged after 10 kilometers. At night (from 23:00-5:00), the flag-fall rate is CNY 14 for the first three kilometers, an additional charge of CNY 2.7 for every succeeding kilometer and CNY 4.1 for every succeeding kilometer after 10 kilometers. However, passenger can bargain the price with taxi driver at night.
