The Qipan Mountain Scenic Area is famous for its greenery during springtime, its attractions in summer, the maple in autumn, and snow in winter. Once host of the international chess match, it has been the scenic spot of Liaoning Province, and was appraised as a national 4A tourism scenic area in 2000.

Situated to the northeast of Shenyang, Qipan Mountain Scenic Area is the biggest natural scenic area of Shenyang. There are various hills, canyons, trees, flowers and birds in the Qipan Mountains. The natural attractions include the main body of Qipan Mountain Scenic Area, which is considered as the main tourism area congregated tours of forest, snow, scenic spots, holiday, famous points of interests, general knowledge, shopping, cultural and entertainment etc.

Qipan Mountain Scenic Area is composed of three mountains and one lake.  The three mountains include Qipan Mountain, Hui Mountain and Dayang Mountain. The lake is Xiu Lake.
