Brief information on Huanxiu Villa  

Huanxiu Villa is located at No. 262 Jingde Rd., inside the Suzhou Embroidery Museum. It was the residence of Shen Shixing, a high-ranking officer in Ming Dynasty, and then, was turned over to Wang Family in 1847. From then on, the garden was named Huanxiu Villa.

Huanxiu Villa is an ancient garden emphasizing rockery and is taken as a representative of this kind of work. The models that visitors now see were created by a specialist in piling Qing Dynasty rocks, resembling the contemporary painting style. Every joint of the rocks is combined according to the original grains and form of the rock body itself. The caves in the rockeries contain vaulted or arched roofs, and the peaks, ridges, secluded valleys; precipice trails, spanning rock beams, cave dwellings and cliffs all have distinctive features just like those in the true mountains.

Feixue Spring was initially the source of the rockery Quebrada. Following the stagnation of the spring, people moved to using other water sources for the Quebrada Visitors still have the opportunity to see the site of the spring.
