Brief information on The Erdaoqiao Bazaar  

The Erdaoqiao Bazaar has been the principal centre of commerce for ethnic groups in Xinjiang, West Asia and Middle Asia since the end of the Qing Dynasty. It attracts many visitors-both domestic and foreign-due to its unique ethnic flavour and the insight it affords into local Xinjiang culture. ?

At present, the bazaar offers more than 2,000 products, around 80% of which are ethnic goods, such as clothes, ethnic hats, ethnic knives, ethnic ornaments, ethnic handicrafts, ethnic music instruments, Xinjiang fruit, Pakistani bronzes, ethnic medicines, ethnic carpets, and other textiles. All of them offer the visitor a unique cultural souvenir. If you grow tired of shopping, the bazaar also has various restaurants and bars for your refreshment. Perhaps the best market is the Sunday market, as it has more stalls offering more goods.  Next to the Erdaqiao market is the Erdaqiao Mosque, another popular tourist attraction. Even a cursory glance tells you that Erdaoqiao is a microcosm of Xinjiang culture and is worthy of a place on anyone’s itinerary.
