1. Red Hill
Red Hill, the symbol of Urumqi, is located in the center of the city, which is made up of red rocks. It is regarded as a holy place where the tribesmen to worship and sacrifice to their gods.

2. Heavenly Lake
Heavenly Lake or Tianchi Lake is located in the Tianshan Mountain at the height of 1,980 meters above the sea level. The whole lake takes the shape of Lune with water as clear as jade, surrounded by mountains, flowers and forests.

3. Southern Pasture
Southern Pasture is about 60 kilometers from Urumqi taking about 2 hours drive, which is a natural landscape with the area of about 119 square kilometers. The famous attractions there are the East Poplar Gully, the West Poplar Gully, Chrysanthemums Terrace of Gan Gully, Zhaobi Hill of Shuixi Gully and the Miaoer Gully, etc.

4. Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum
Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum is in the urban area of Urumqi, which can be traced back to 1953. It presents rare and archaeological collections from the Silk Road and the local relics including silk fabrics, potteries, weapons, terra-cotta figures, and scriptures, etc. In addition, there are many articles from ethnic groups displayed in the museum.

5. Erdaoqiao Market

7. Glacier No.1
There are glaciers in Urumqi ranged from No.1 to No.5, and the Glacier No.1 is the largest one that is located in the north of Tian Geer Peak. It is closest to the metropolis among the glaciers in the world.

8. Xinjiang Silk Road Museum
Xinjiang Silk Road Museum, located in the prosperous center of business, is near the International Grand Bazaar of Xinjiang. Tourists can feel the rare nomadic culture and appreciate the charm of Western Region during the Han and Tang Dynasty. 
 
9. People's Square
People’s Square has a long history, and was a lotus pond during the rule of Guang Xu in Qing Dynasty. It is the center of politic affairs and cultural activities in Urumqi. The cenotaph of the People’s Liberation Army marching into Xinjiang reminds people of the liberation of Xinjiang and the great achievements of the PLA men.   

10. Water Mill Gully
The Water Mill Gully is located in the northeastern suburb of Urumqi and is about 5 kilometers from the urban area. The Water Mill River flows through the gully, with the old woods dancing on the two banks, the fountain water spewing out, and the pavilions adorned.
