Brief information on Jichang Garden
![]() |
Jichang Garden borders Huishan Temple within Xihui Park at the eastern base of Mount Hui. During the Ming Dynasty it was one of southern China’s most famous mountain villa gardens, and is now the only historical and cultural site under national protection in Wuxi.
Jichang Garden not only has an ingenious layout but also a uniquely simple, spacious and peaceful style. The notable sights within the park include Eight Note Ravine, Qixing Bridge, Zhiyu Railing, Yupang Corridor, Jiashu Hall and Hanxu Pavilion.
Jichang Garden shines because of its clean water, refined gardens, gnarled trees and the surrounding mountain scenery. Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty visited Jichang Garden many times and composed numerous poems about it.
