Lake Tai is the third biggest freshwater lake in China, with an area of 2,250 square kilometers. It has the beautiful features of both a sea and a lake. Li Garden, Plum Blossom Garden, Turtle Head Islet, and other gardens surround it. Mount Xi and Mount Hui scenic areas include so many ancient springs, temples, gardens and towers that they are often referred to as outdoor historical museums. The Lingshan Grand Buddha is one of the largest Buddha statues in China and the world. Lake Tai also features many historical places of interest, ruins, old buildings like Jichang Garden, and Tian Xia Di Er Quan (the “second best spring under heaven”).
