Brief information on Xian Museum  

Situated in the Small Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Spot, Xian Museum is a main feature of the area, with an amazing cultural and historical atmosphere. The museum building was constructed with a round roof and square floor suggesting that heaven is round and the earth is square, and this contrasts with the neighboring Small Wild Goose Pagoda.

Xian Museum houses around 130,000 fine cultural relics, most of which were excavated from the important tombs and capital sites of the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties. The centerpiece 2,000 articles reflect the prominent technological achievements of these past dynasties.

In May. 18th, 2007, Xian Museum was opened to public, the first municipal museum of this ancient 13-dynasty city.
