Korla Overview: With an area of 7116.9 sq km and a population of 430,000 and with 20,000 additional people every year, Korla is a medium-sized city in central Xinjiang and the capital city of the Bayin'gholin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. The city name is occasionally spelled Kurla in English. The majority of the population of the city is Han Chinese, with a number of Uyghurs (about 100,000) and smaller numbers of Mongols and Huis.

By Bus: The road system of the city is formed by the National Highway No.218 and other major road that link Korla to the nearby cities and tourist destinations in and around Xinjiang. The only one road made of red-brick built in the desert also runs across the city.
By Taxi: It is very convenient to hire a taxi in Korla. The flag down fare is 5 Yuan and may vary according to the size of the vehicle.
Korla Food: There are a lot of delicate foods in Korla, including Roast Sheep, Kebab, Nan, Pilaf, Yogurt, Roast Fish, etc. The restaurants in downtown area provide different flavors food. Visitors can also have a chance to taste the tasty food from street vendors in night markets.

Lop Lake: The Lop Lake is located in the east of the Taklamakan Desert in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It was an important station on the ancient Silk Road and once a very large lake. It attracts historians and geographers from home and abroad because of its mysterious name ‘Lake of Death’.
Ancient City of Loulan: It was on March 28th, 1900 the Ancient City of Loulan was founded on the west bank of Lop Nur Lake by a Swedish adventurer named Sven Hedin and his guide. Lop Nur Lake is now a lake of sand instead of water. The city of Loulan has attracted thousands of adventures, historians and travelers both from home and abroad over 100 years from then. The city used to be the capital of State Loulan, one of the 36 western regions states and occupied very significant position on the Silk Road. However, it suddenly vanished into the history after about 800 years of prosperity and with a mystery left behind forever.
Swan Lake: Situated on Bayinbuluke Plain in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Korla Swan Lake is a famous and the only swan lake nature reserve in China. Korla Swan Lake is a mountain lake, which is 30km long from east to west, 10km wide from south to north, and 2500-3000m above sea level. It is blessed with crystal-clear water rippling like a ribbon.
