Xishuangbanna Overview:   Xishuangbanna is the southernmost city of Yunnan Province, bordering Laos, Burma and Vietnam with a border line of 1069 kilometers. Located between 21°08′~22°36′ north longitude, 99°56′~101°50′ latitude east, Xishuangbanna is the transition zone  between Asia Continental and The South East Asian Peninsular. On a world map, you will find the altitude of Xishuangbanna similar to The Gobi Desert.

A rich land 25% of the animals and 15% of the plants of the whole country thrive. Xishuangbanna is the genuine “Animal Kingdom” and “Plant Kingdom”. Occupying an area of 19184.00 square kilometers and a population of 79,600, Xishuangbanna is made up of, Menghai and Mengla County, and the Capital City of Jinghong. There are Dai, Hani, Bulang, Jinuo, Yao and several other minorities, among which Dai is the largest and 33% of the whole population of Xishuangbanna.

Xishuangbanna Climate & Weather: Xishuangbanna is one of the few cities in Yunnan Province with no winter. The average temperature in January the coldest time of the year is 16 °C and 28 °C during the hottest time July to August. There are only two seasons, the dry season and rainy season. Best time to visit Xishuangbanna is from November to April when the temperature is mild. June to September brings a chance to sample various kinds of tropical fruits. May to October is the rainy season.
