Day 1

Place & Transport Arrive in Beijing

Day 2

Place & Transport Beijing
Today's Activities After breakfast, your visit in Beijing begins from the largest public square in the world - Tiananmen Square. Walking through the square, you will enter the world's largest palace building complex-Forbidden City. Afterwards, drive to Old Beijing's Hutongs(narrow alleys) for a rickshaw ride, visit a traditional courtyard house and taste a delicious lunch served at a local family home. Then enjoy the breathtaking views of Summer Palace, the finest imperial garden built in Qing Dynasty.

Day 3

Place & Transport Beijing
Today's Activities The morning excursion takes you to Temple of Heaven where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven for good harvest. After lunch at a local restaurant, you take a scenic drive to the Great Wall, the less- crowded Mutianyu section (including round-trip cable car). Taste delicious Peking Duck at dinner. In the evening, watch the world-famous Kungfu Show before driving back to hotel.

Day 4

Place & Transport Beijing-Urumqi
Today's Activities Check out in the morning, and then take a photo stop at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube-the main stadiums of 2008 Beijing Olympics on the way to Beijing 798 Art Zone. Beijing 798 Art Zone with more than 200 art & culture galleries was once a military-industrial factory complex since early 1950's. As for lunch, you can get by yourself in Beijing 798 Art Zone. Then take the afternoon flight to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang which occupies 1/6 of China's land territory. Upon your arrival, your local guide will meet you at airport and then transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is left on your own.

Day 5

Place & Transport Urumqi-Turpan
Today's Activities In the morning, drive to Turpan, the city with the lowest elevation in China and famous for grapes. Around Turpan, you will visit the ancient Gaochang Ruins, Ruins of a garrison town for ancient Silk Road built in the 1st century B.C., and Bezekelik Thousand Buddha Caves, the Buddhist center of Gaochang in the history. Its 1,200 square meters murals are preserved in more than 40 caves. In Turpan Basin, visit the famous Flaming Hill, the hottest place in China. Visit the renowned Astana Tombs where people of ancient Gaochang were buried.

Day 6

Place & Transport Turpan-Dunhuang
Today's Activities Today's excursion includes a series of impressive ancient projects including Jiaohe Ruins, the highlight of Turpan with its well preserved town ruins and, Sugong(Emin) Minaret, the tallest Muslim minaret in China, and Karez Well, the unique irrigation system composed of wells connected by underground water system. After that, go to Dunhuang, an oasis city with strategic position at the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road, by overnight soft sleeper train.

Day 7

Place & Transport Dunhuang
Today's Activities Our guide will meet you at Liuyuan railway station and transfer you to the hotel. After breakfast, drive to the Echoing-Sand Dune listen to the singing sand and view the amazing Crescent Lake in the oasis, camel riding is arranged for you to enjoy the desert scenery. After lunch, head for the world-famous Mogao Grottoes, the richest treasure house of Buddhist art in the world, where you would be impressed by its numerous Buddhist sculptures and murals.

Day 8

Place & Transport Dunhuang-Xian
Today's Activities Be transferred to airport to take the flight to Xi'an for more Chinese history experience. Upon arrival in Xian, our local guide will greet you and transfer you to the hotel. Then, pay a visit to Shaanxi History Museum, home to a large collection of historical items like bronze and paintings.

Day 9

Place & Transport Xian
Today's Activities Take an excursion to China's greatest archaeological discovery-Terracotta Warriors and Horses, an underground army for the tomb of China's First Emperor over 2,200 years ago. After lunch, drive to the square in front of Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the pagoda is the landmark of this city. A walk around the square will help you appreciate the exquisite Tang-styled architectures and sculptures. This evening, you attend a special Dumpling banquet followed by a remarkable Tang Dynasty Culture Show.

Day 10

Place & Transport Xian-Shanghai
Today's Activities The morning tour includes the well preserved Xi'an City Wall, which was built in the 13th century on the foundations of the original Tang Forbidden City; a bike ride on the wall is arranged. Followed by visiting the Great Mosque and the famous Muslim Street nearby, you touch the real local life here. After a la carte lunch, you fly to Shanghai, China's most dynamic city and vibrant financial center. Our local guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 11

Today's Activities You visit the Shanghai Museum, with a collection of more than 120,000 cultural relics of ancient China, its display includes ceramics, jade, bronze, furniture and paintings, etc. A La Carte Lunch is included. After the tour of the 400-year old famous classical Yuyuan Garden with the local market nearby and Nanjing Road, you take a walk along Tianzifang, one of the few places in Shanghai with preserved old shikumen houses. This area is filled with arts, crafts, and boutique shops. Afterwards, you attend an unforgettable Acrobatic Show.
