Thangka is a Tibetan looking hotel but with under western standards. The location cannot be better and there are multiple restaurants around and multiple sightseeing sites on walking distance.
The view of rooftop of this hotel is superb. Free Internet service is very good specially on the first day when you landed in Lhasa, you have to stay at hotel to to prevent altitude sickness.

“Good Hotel in an Excellent Location”
Excellent service: Extremely friendly and helpful hotel staff, always with a smile. They helped us a lot when one of us fell sick and needed help. The manager even visited us in the hospital - thanks a lot for this most helpful service and friendly support we have experienced so far! Moreover, the hotel is in a great location, just a five minute walk from Jokhang Temple and the center of Lhasa, but still very quiet and relaxing. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, food is great. Absolutely recommendable!
“Fantastic location, service and definitely recommended!”
We stayed in the Thangka hotel for four nights as part of our organised trip to Tibet. The location is obviously fantastic but were mostly impressed with the friendly service of the staff. They were very welcoming and helpful throughout. We requested to have a room on the 4th floor (after two nights on the 3rd) just so that we could see the Jokhang temple from our window - stunning views! The breakfast is average, although definitely the best compared to the other hotels we've stayed in in Tibet and China. Eggs, cereal, noodles - nothing too special.
