The trip was great and exceeded our expectations! The itinerary was an accurate representation of the trip. We will definitely recommend Chinatouronline to our family and friends who consider traveling to China!
The tour guides in Beijing (Nancy), Chengdu (Susan), and Shanghai (Sue) were excellent. They spoke very clearly, and happily accommodated us and our wishes. The tour guide in Lhasa needed improvement. He seemed shy and was not willing to openly talk to us. Car rides were very quiet and we often had to initiate conversation.
In Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai, we received bottled water from our tour guides free of charge. We welcomed this service and appreciated it greatly! All the tour vehicles were clean and had air conditioning. There were no driver problems at all during the whole trip. All the drivers were very courteous, and we were happily surprised about their promptness and punctuality.
The meals that we most enjoyed were the breakfasts in Beijing (Xuanwumen Hotel) and the lunch we had in Shanghai. The food was very tasty at those locations. Our favorite hotel was the Xuanwumen in Beijing. It was very modern; had the best breakfast; great location; computer with internet in the room; and extremely clean. The hotels in Chengdu (Lhasa Hotel), and Shanghai (Pacific Luck Hotel) were also very nice. The hotel in Chengdu was amazingly beautiful but the breakfast was not as delicious as Xuanwumen’s. The Pacific Luck Hotel had fantastic room service food, and a pretty good breakfast, but the location was a little far from the main part of Shanghai, as it was east of the Pudong River and north of the Suzhou River.
The hotel in Lhasa was acceptable, the meals that we least enjoyed were the breakfasts in Lhasa. The rest of the meals were average. As for positives, the location was very convenient to Barkhor Street, and the room was relatively clean given the lower standards in Tibet versus Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai.
Our favorite parts of the trip were our visits to the Great Wall in Beijing and the Panda Research Center in Chengdu. We love pandas!

Thanks for your wonderful service and attention to every detail that made such a memorable trip.
All vehicles were clean and equipped with air-conditioner. All the drivers were very courteous, no problems at all.
All of our tour guides were very polite and were easy for my wife and I to understand.
No problems in any hotel and room staff were very friendly. Some reception staff did not have much English language ability. For the cost and class of hotels, all were extremely good especially the Universal in Guilin.
The restaurants were also very satisfactory and very clean with helpful staff. All restaurants were clean and staff polite and attentive. The restaurant we went to while in Beijing had the nicest tasting food.
Overall, ChinaTourOnline is a very professionally run organization which I will recommend to my friends or anyone who may be thinking of a trip to China in the future.

I was in Beijing as a journalist working on the Canadian television coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games. After the games ended, my wife joined me for a two- week holiday in china.
Friends advised us to use the services of CHINATOURONLINE (CTO.) we are very happy with our choice. CTO was very efficient in meeting our needs and answering our questions when planning our trip. We were always kept informed about booking and given many options. When we made changes in our plans, CTO was quick to respond and made new bookings for us. During our china tour, there were always CTO guides and drivers to pick us up and take us to our hotels. They were always on time for our sightseeing tours, and when we needed to be dropped off at an airport. We took five airline flights within china, and at every destination the CTO guide and driver were there when we arrived. The guides themselves were very informative, friendly and polite. They answered all our questions thoroughly and in clear English. They all had a sense of humor and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves at all times. My wife and I will certainly recommend the services of CHINATOURONLINE to any of our family or friends who may be planning to visit china.
My wife Marian Noonan and I had a marvelous two weeks in Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, on the Yangtze River, in Yichang and Shanghai. Everything went smoothly with no problems, except for the delay boarding the cruise ship in Chongqing. I have also attached photos of my wife and I aboard the cruise ship century diamond in Wu gorge, my wife with our guide Xin looking at hand-crafted dolls in the Shanghai arts and crafts centre, guide Eddie Lau and me in the Xian airport, and my wife and I at the Great Wall in Badaling. Feel free to use any of the photos and any of my comments.
All of the vehicles were clean and comfortable. We had no problems and have no complaints. All of the drivers were courteous, friendly and well behaved.
All of the tour guides were good. I would like to make special mention of two: Eddie Lau in Xian and Mrs. Xin in Shanghai. Eddie Lau spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. His tour of the Terra Cotta Warriors facility was very good. He was very friendly, had a good sense of humour and could answer all of our many questions. Mrs. Xin also spoke excellent English. She was clearly an experienced guide who not only gave us very useful information, but also provided good advice on where to shop, what we should be cautious about and where we might like to spend our free time. She made us feel very comfortable and her tours were very relaxing and interesting. The other guides (Tina in Chongqing, Wei in Yichang and Li Na in Beijing) were also very satisfactory and polite.
All of the restaurants were clean and the food was very good. Especially the restaurant in Shanghai was excellent. I think it was called 1932 on the bund. The service at all the restaurants was very good.
All of the hotels were very good, while the Hyatt on the bund was very modern and provided excellent amenities, my wife and I most enjoyed the bamboo garden hotel in Beijing. It was like a jewel among the Hutongs, was very well furnished, and charming. The staffs were friendly and very helpful.
I would like to praise you, Andee, for your excellent work in planning our trip to china. You always responded quickly and thoroughly to our e-mails. You were quick to adjust our schedule when we asked for changes. You kept us constantly informed of our itinerary and any adjustments in price or schedule. We appreciate all you did for us and would like these comments to be given to your supervisors at CTO.

Thank you very much for arranging such a memorable trip for us. This is our first time to visit China and we extremely enjoyed the trip! All arrangements were in order. All the guides were friendly and helpful with good knowledge of their area, and their English was excellent. So they all made a great contribution to the success of our trip. Meanwhile, the drivers were very skilled and vehicles were clean and comfortable.
There were so many highlights in China, and we loved the itinerary of Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. We were wondered by the Great Wall, Forbidden City , Temple of Heaven, Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses etc.. What a pity that we just have seven days' trip. We enjoyed trying all the different food and found most of them are very tasty such as the Peking Duck Banquet in Beijing and the Dumpling Banquet in Xian. In Beijing we enjoyed the Chinese Peking Opera and Acrobatic Show and the Tang Dynasty Song and Dance was outstanding in Xian. I cannot express enough the feelings I had enjoying your culture.
We had wonderful hotels(Prime Hotel in Beijing and Grand New World Hotel in Xian). The hotels were decorated delicately, and all the staff at the hotel were helpful and courteous.
We would like to choose CTO again if we go to visit China in future . Overall, we were very impressed with your organization that gave us a memorable holiday. Our only real disappointment was the poor weather in Shanghai , but it did not influence our mood in the whole trip. Thank you for all your work on our behalf.
